Nestled in the rolling hills of north-east Zimbabwe is the Mt. Darwin district, home to the village of Kandeya.

The motivation and genesis of the Hear Africa Foundation, was the conditions in this region and community in 2006. Currently, Hear Africa supports local families through our agricultural program (seed & fertilizer, training & shows). Major infrastructure projects in Kandeya include enhancements for both the electrical and water supply, as well a church re-construction. In 2014, with funds raised by Hear Africa, the community of Kandeya celebrated the opening of their new secondary school. Previously students had to travel up to 20 KM to the closest high school which presented a major barrier to education. Hear Africa is continuing its long term commitment to this region by partnering with the local development committee to construct a much needed medical clinic, beginning in 2016.
